The winner of the trip and guided visit to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, M\u00aa Isabel Miota Ibarra (Gerencia de Atenci\u00f3n Integrada de Cuenca), with the proposal “Who is behind your food”<\/em> first prize of the I Jornada I+DEAR held last April 12, 2023 tells us about his experience in the trip made last September:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hours before departure,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

nerves, fear and excitement;<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

I have never been a close friend<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

of air travel.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first surprise was<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

see our double-decker plane!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

my anxiety vanished:<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

such a bird would be accurate.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After a few hours,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

watered with Ram\u00f3n Bilbao,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

we finally arrived in Boston<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n


\n impressive in spite of being “nublao <\/em>
\n<\/strong>
\n “cloudy”.<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

I saw my name on a sign<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

and I was so happy<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

I embraced Rafael,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

our guide for those days.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

We arrived at the hotel,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

unbeatable location,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

in it has been housed<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

honorable characters.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

A guiding red line<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

for the history of the city,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

you just have to follow her<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

and focus on enjoying yourself.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Giant skyscrapers,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

next to small houses,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\n <\/b>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

a very nice postcard.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Guided tour of MIT<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

deserves special mention:<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

makes you dream of things<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

and to strive to achieve them.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

We sail the Atlantic<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

for whale watching;<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

see them at liberty<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

I swear it leaves a mark.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

As an anecdote<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

we adopted a puppy,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

and as you can guess<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

we have named it Boston.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
