The Institute for Health Research of Castilla-La Mancha (IDISCAM) held yesterday at the General Hospital of Tomelloso the II IDISCAM Health Research Day. The meeting, organized by IDISCAM-FHNP, brought together clinical professionals and scientists involved in R&D in healthcare.

The inauguration of the conference was carried out by the Managing Director of the Health Service of Castilla-La Macha, Mr. Alberto Jara Sánchez, the Managing Director of the Integrated Care Area of Tomelloso, Mr. César Moreno-Chocano and Mr. Vicenç Martínez Ibáñez, First Scientific Director of the Institute for Health Research of Castilla-La Mancha.

The keynote lecture was given by Dr. José Castillo Sánchez, Professor of Neurology at the University of Santiago de Compostela and former Scientific Director of the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS) on the Integration of research and health care.

A total of 200 people registered for the conference and 87 papers were presented, of which 21 were selected for oral communications and 56 for poster presentations from SESCAM, the National Paraplegic Hospital Foundation, the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) and the University of Alcalá de Henares (UAH).

The Castilla-La Mancha Institute for Health Research (IDISCAM) now has almost 1,000 members, 89 research groups and 10 support platforms.
