Objectives and lines of research

– Synthesis of graphene and graphene derivatives by mechanochemical treatment.
– Use of microwave irradiation for the purification and functionalization of carbon nanotubes and nanohorns
– Modification of carbon nanostructures by mechanochemical methods.
– Carbon nanostructures as vehicles in drug delivery and gene transfection
– New materials derived from carbonaceous nanostructures and their integration into solar cells
– Preparation of aqueous graphene dispersions (few layers) for biological use. Toxicity studies
