Objectives and lines of research
Main lines of research:
To determine the role of glial cells, with emphasis on astrocytes, in the processing of sensory information under physiological conditions and after CNS lesions.
2. Explore and develop new strategies to manipulate astrocyte-neuron interaction to promote neuronal circuit repair/plasticity and functional recovery after CNS injury.
3. In vivo evaluation of new biomaterials for reconnecting neuronal circuits.
