Objectives and lines of research

– Neurophysiological basis of learning and memory: synaptic plasticity and oscillatory activity of neural networks.
– Early stages of Alzheimer’s disease: amyloidosis and cognition.
– To study the mechanisms of action of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptide and to elucidate how the peptide may perturb the excitatory-inhibitory balance (E/I ratio) of neuronal circuits in the brain.
